About the Job
Core Purpose: To guide First Church of God, Greensburg in fulfilling its mission of discovering God and changing lives by providing visionary spiritual leadership, biblical teaching, and compassionate pastoral care, equipping members for service, and overseeing church operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preaching & Teaching: Deliver biblically-based, engaging sermons that foster spiritual growth.
  • Spiritual Leadership: Set and implement the church's vision, building off our 3 pillars of Prayer, Discipleship, and Outreach. Oversee worship and provide prayerful guidance for all ministries.
  • Pastoral Care: Offer counseling, support, and conduct life-cycle events (weddings, funerals, baptisms).
  • Organizational Oversight: Lead, mentor, and evaluate church staff and volunteers; guide church administration and strategic planning.
  • Community & Outreach: Foster community within the church and lead efforts to engage the broader community.

  • Deep, lived-out Christian faith & biblical knowledge.
  • Exceptional communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership, administrative ability, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, board, and congregation.

Qualifications:
  • Licensed minister within the Church of God Ministries, Anderson, Indiana, and Ordained (or pursuing ordination process).
  • Prior experience as Lead or Associate Pastor.

It has 2 school systems and several parks. It also has many acres of agriculture. Greensburg is conveniently located off I-74 between Indianapolis and Cincinnati. Our church building is a beautiful, well-maintained facility built around our historic sanctuary, located close to historic downtown Greensburg.
  • Local Demographics: A mix of long-time residents and young adults seeking to raise families in a rural setting. Greensburg has a predominantly white population. Like most small towns, Greensburg strives to attract new businesses and grow.
